Sustainability

At Hotel Quinto, sustainability isn’t just a choice — it’s a way of life. Nestled in the heart of Colombia’s Coffee Triangle, we are deeply committed to protecting the land, water, and culture that make Montenegro so special.

We actively minimize our environmental footprint through thoughtful daily practices.

All organic waste is composted on-site, nourishing our gardens and reducing landfill use. Recyclables are sorted and processed locally, and we work closely with our guests and team to reduce single-use plastics and encourage conscious consumption.

Our kitchen proudly supports local and organic farming. We source fruits, vegetables, and coffee from our own family-owned farm that follow traditional, chemical-free methods — ensuring every meal we serve is as sustainable as it is delicious.

One of our most exciting initiatives is our ongoing research on the Río Roble, a mighty river that flows near the property. In collaboration with local engineers and environmental experts, we are exploring ways to harness its natural energy for clean, small-scale hydropower. Our long-term goal: to generate renewable electricity and contribute to a clean drinking water system for the community of Montenegro.

At Hotel Quinto, we believe in hospitality that heals — not only for our guests but for the environment and the people who call this land home.
